Texas Electricity Ratings has updated their Texas electricity provider rankings heading into the hottest portion of the Texas summer shopping season. The goal is to ensure that shoppers have the most up to date information at their disposal while shopping for electricity providers.
In preparation for the final stretch of the summer season, Texas Electricity Ratings has updated their criteria to reflect Texas’ mature electricity shopping market, as well as product innovation and consumer technology shifts. Some of the new criteria include Social Media Interaction, Community Outreach, and Mobile Usability. These additions join the existing ratings criteria, which include plan rates, PUC ranking, and third party data sources as well as reviews submitted by customers in areas like customer service, billing, and how likely they would recommend a provider to another person.
Retaining their #1 position in our list is Champion Energy, increasing their ranking from 4.03 to 4.25. Champion Energy, the 4 time winner of the J.D. Power Award for electricity in Texas, continues to lead the industry with excellent customer service, customer loyalty, and competitive rates. They also got a healthy boost because of community outreach.
Retaining their position at the #2 spot is Bounce Energy. Bounce jumped up from a 4.02 to a 4.18 ranking. A big part of their boost came from their social media awareness. Bounce Energy has always been a very active player on Facebook and twitter both to build their brand and to make themselves available to customers.
4Change Energy moved up half a point from 3.33 to 3.75. Helping them move up was their commitment to charity (they donate part of every bill to the charity of a customer’s choosing) and currently having some of the most competitive rates in Texas. Startex Power was another big mover, jumping almost half a point from 3.19 to 3.6 based on the strength of low rates and strong customer service.
With a new rankings system that reflects a now mature Texas electricity market and a focus on things that matter to customers, Texas Electricity Ratings is committed to helping Texans make informed choices about the best options to fulfill their home energy needs. When customers rate, everyone wins.
