Texas Electricity Ratings "Energy For Life" Scholarship!
The scholarship is open to all high school senior and college students who live in or attend school in the United States. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one qualifying student. In order to be eligible, students must meet the requirements below, submit an application online, and write a short essay of no more than 500 words.
Requirements
Applicants for the scholarship must meet each of the following requirements:
- Applicants must be planning to enroll or are currently enrolled in an accredited United States college or University during the upcoming academic year.
- Must be a current high school senior or college student (undergraduate or graduate)
- Write a 500-word essay responding to the following:
Texas Electricity Ratings considers itself to be more than just a company that helps consumers and businesses find the best electricity companies providing the best energy plans and the best rates.
We go a step further to provide customer reviews of all energy providers so that new and existing customers can make the best decision when looking to purchase an electricity plan.
Texas Electricity Ratings wants to know: "What do you plan to do to distinguish yourself in your college career and in your life after graduation?"
Scholarship award will be sent directly to the University or College attended, not directly to the student.
NOTE: All submissions are used only for the purpose of awarding a scholarship. Applicants will not receive solicitation from Texas Electricity Ratings or any other party. Applicant information is never shared or sold.

Is there an age requirement?
No. If you are under 18, please also provide contact information for your parents (name, phone number, and email)
What is the amount of the "Energy for Life" scholarship?
We will award one (1) scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
Does it cost anything to apply for this scholarship?
No. There is no fee or cost to apply.
What are the general requirements for the "Energy for Life" Scholarship?
- Students must be residents of or attend high school or college in the United States
- Students must either be a current high school senior or college student
- Students must complete the essay requirements online
- All applications must be submitted online through our application
When can I apply for the "Energy for Life" Scholarship?
Scholarship applications are currently unavaialble.
I did not get a submission confirmation number. What do I do?
If you did not get a confirmation number or an email confirming your submission, make sure your transcript file was uploaded and/or you got an error message on your confirmation page. If you are able to upload your transcript file and still do not get a confirmation number, please email Scholarships@TexasElectricityRatings.com for help.
When and how will the winners be announced?
The winners will be announced at the end of our next scholarship program cycle.
Can I edit my application after submitting it?
No, if you find you??ve made an error after submitting your application, you will need to fill out another application. We cannot make edits to an application once it has been submitted. If you do fill out another application, be sure to email Scholarships@TexasElectricityRatings.com and let us know the confirmation number of the application that was submitted in error.
How do you choose a winner?
A scholarship committee comprised of at least 5 volunteer members will score each of the entries based on the following criteria:
- Originality
- Responsiveness to the question asked
- Quality of the writing
- Substantive content of the response
