Pros and Cons

Pros: This is a pretty good Time of Use Plan, with free nights, and a decent rate accross all tiers of usage. 100% green energy. Cons: This plan has a $9.95 monthly charge, which is pretty high adds almost $120 a year to your electricity bills.

Our Review

This is a pretty decent time of use plan for "Free Nights." The rates are low across all usage tiers of 500, 1000, and 2000 kWh. Of course, the $9.95 monthly base charge is very high for the market, and probably what makes the lower rates possible. The 11 PM window for free energy starts pretty late compared to some other plans, so folks who can schedule their appliances and/or have an electric vehicle to charge make the most sense for this plan. The cancellation fee of $15 per month remaining on contract is also nice.

Who should buy this plan

As far as free energy, or "Free Nights and Weekends" style of plans, this is a pretty good one. Like most similar plans, this is a good one for anyone who does or can schedule most of their energy usage in the late night hours. So people with electric vehicles, or appliances that can be connected to the internet and scheduled, like dishwashers, thermostats, etc. The rates aren't bad for folks living in a large home, either. The plan is also made from 100% green energy, so it's a good plan for the environmentally conscious. It's a 2 year plan, with cheaper rates than the 1 year plan, so it's good for large homeowners as well.
